heart attack prevention

Heart attacks can, and do, strike without warning. This year 1.1 million Americans will suffer heart attacks and over 500,000 men and women will die with almost half of them never knowing anything was wrong

No one should fear early detection of coronary artery disease because it allows for earlier intervention when treatment options are the greatest and most likely to be both non-invasive and highly effective in eliminating the risk of a heart attack.

Electron Beam Tomography is the only validated technology that can accurately find heart disease in its earliest stages and it is considered the gold standard for non-invasive coronary artery analysis. It is the only scanning technology approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specifically for this purpose and is supported by over 1,000 medical publications. It is more accurate than traditional methods for diagnosing heart disease.

For example, the treadmill stress test is only positive when there is at least 65-70% blockage of the coronary arteries. Yet, heart attacks can occur with as little as 50% blockage. Electron Beam Tomography can detect less than 5% plaque build-up in the coronary arteries. This allows for many years of simple treatment such as diet and medication to reverse the process.

disease detection

If coronary artery disease is discovered, then a unique multiple subtype analysis of blood lipids can be performed to specifically identify those lipid subtypes causing the plaque formation. This subtype analysis results in individualized treatment recommendations of both diet and simple medications in order to reverse the coronary artery disease. Success of the treatment plan can then be periodically monitored by repeat Electron Beam coronary calcium scoring.

The EARLY WARNING detection of heart disease can eliminate your risk of having a heart attack. The EARLY WARNING program is much more than a scan. It is a comprehensive plan capable of reversing heart disease.

risk factors

Electron Beam Analysis of the coronary arteries is an appropriate test for otherwise healthy people with the following conditions:

Family history of heart disease

History of smoking
Abnormal cholesterol
High blood pressure
Sedentary or high stress lifestyle
Obesity or Diabetes
Increasing age
Known coronary artery disease for monitoring progression or regression
Symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, light headedness, fainting, fluttering or rapid heartbeat, ankle swelling or worsening exercise tolerance

Abnormal EKG or equivocal treadmill stress test
