| Virtual
Colonoscopy is safer and significantly less-invasive
thantraditional colonoscopy. During a conventional colonoscopy
a long tube is passed from the rectum through the entire
large bowel while the physician views the lining of
the colon.
This
procedure is performed in a surgical suite and requires
sedation and sometimes anesthesia. Penetration or perforation
of the colon wall is a risk which would require major
surgery to repair.

The
EARLY WARNING Virtual Colonoscopy requires
no anesthesia and the scan takes about 30 seconds with
the patient lying on his/her back (supine) and another
30 seconds with the patient lying on his/her stomach
(prone).
The
colon is gently inflated with Carbon Dioxide rather
than the invasive colonoscope tube. Our advanced and
unique Viatronix Virtual Colonoscopy system and Electron
Beam Tomography Scanner captures hundreds of millimeter
images through the abdomen and pelvis providing a virtual
image of the entire colon. |
|
| |
|
Our
powerful data processing supercomputers create
4-D semi-transparent CineImages duplicating the
visual images and motion obtained with conventional
colonoscopy. If any residual stool is identified
in the colon, it is virtually removed by our unique
data processing system to provide the clearest
image of the colon lining. |

Men
and women over the age of 40 should consider virtual
colonoscopy for the EARLY WARNING
diagnosis of colon cancer. Polyps of the colon take
many years to develop into cancer.
Therefore,
with early detection of pre-cancerous polyps, colon
cancer can be avoided. Recent large scale national
studies have shown that virtural colonscopy has been
able to detect more polyps than traditional colonoscopy
with the viatronix system. |
